100% ARABICA DECAF «SUGAR CANE»This is a new decaffeination process based on “Sugar Cane.” Sugar cane is a natural source of ethyl acetate, which is extracted and mixed with spring water; the green beans are then added to this mixture under gentle heat and pressure. This process is repeated several times until the residual caffeine content reaches the maximum level permitted by law, which is ≤0.1%.The coffee looks slightly different, but in the cup it’s hard to tell the difference, and it retains all of the coffee’s sensory qualities.
NOTE:The absence of chemicals is another major advantage of this process. We’ve had the opportunity to carry excellent coffees in our store that, in addition to being decaffeinated, were also organic.
IMPORTANT:It is important to note that decaffeinated coffee is not completely free of caffeine, as some traces may remain after processing. To meet European standards, 99.9% of the caffeine must be removed from the coffee.
